Part way down US40 and smack in the middle of memory lane, the countryside reminds Mark of the long-distance relationship which brought his beloved wife Laura, now dead, into his life. Sweet memories commingle with his bitter feelings as he recalls falling in love with her.

Some amicable conversation, some cracked ribs, a few hours to rest... why, it almost sounds like a recipe for romance, except that DeSorcy is above such things and Michelle is <b>not</b> hitting on him. Vol. 6 - A Fistful of Destiny - Part 9 <Br> The night of liberation begins as Brand leads his companions back into the army base to retrieve the Sword of Destiny. Nothing goes as planned, however, and soon the struggle for freedom is put to the ultimate test.

Mark remembers meeting Laura for the first time (and the Evil Dr. Laura, too).

Sully walks into a bar and sees Adam with a pig under his arm. "Where'd you get the pig?" she asks. And the pig says, "He pulled into town this afternoon..."

Michelle may have begun finding answers, but all DeSorcy has come across has been the business ends of trolls and gorgons. Time to limp home and patch the knight up a bit. Michelle gets a peek through DeSorcy's cracked ribs to what the lost knight is really like inside in this week's episode of the traditional fairy tale retold.

"Mommy, Mommy, last night I dreamed I was the leader of commando assassins!" But wait, isn't that just what a kid needs to get through grade school? And wouldn't it be helpful knowledge to get through some adult days, too?

We follow Mark as he scrambles out of Baltimore, meets the irrepressible Doris, and reaches the Alleghenies.

Vol. 6 - A Fistful of Destiny - Part 8 <Br> In a turbulent sea of emotional upheaval, a fateful decision that could alter the course of the Wielder's life is reached. Also, Brand's dead lover makes a startling return to offer aid in rescuing a friend from accidental stoning.

Summoned into the realm of Fae to solve a murder, Michelle and the lost knight, DeSorcy, track down leads to discover who has slain a mortal and brought forbidden cold iron into the lands of the Sidhe. Rejak the Troll may be able to devour Michelle in one bite, but it's a tough call as to which one has the bigger mouth in this episode of the traditional fairy tale retold.

It's Moving Day for Sully, whose memories of how much she loved Adam exist side by side with the sense of loss when he divorced her. New place, new town, new life.

His family is dead and he's teetering on the brink of insanity. In a dusty Baltimore pool hall, Mark plays the game of his life. Is he really a loser?

Vol. 6 - A Fistful of Destiny - Part 7<br> The Wielder's companions, separated by terrible uncontrolled magic, struggle to reunite. Meanwhile, the Wielder confronts the past that he tried to hide from.

First draft serial fiction. Having entered deep into the realm of Fae, Michelle finds herself summoned into a lair filled with secrets. The reason she has been summoned, DeSorcy's scandalous past, and a dead body await in the darkness below in this episode of the traditional fairy tale retold.

The heart of the matter: Adam, and Sully's faith. If you leap from the top of a tree, but have true faith, will you fall? What if you're leaping for the most attractive man in the world?

Vol. 6 - A Fistful of Destiny - Part 6 <br> Being kidnappped by a talking gorilla with golden hair had to be the highlight of Brand's night. What could possibly shock him after that?

When you drink as much as Mark does, it's hard to say if a situation is surreal, or if you're just that wasted, but there's something about this pool game that seems a little odder than most. Mark may win the game and the favors of the fair lady, but is he running the risk of losing something far more important?

Desire, death, and destruction! When you play with fire, expect to get burned. When you play with Adam ...

Vol. 6 - A Fistful of Destiny - Part 5 <br> The reality of the situation finally sinks in for Brand as he awaits the return of the sword. Elsewhere, Kate walks in on the one thing she never would have expected.

First draft serial fiction. Ignoring the lost knight's attempts to safeguard her, Michelle enters deep into the realm of Fae. Close to the source, the commands summoning her become frighteningly clear, leading her further into danger. Fortunately, "foolhardy" could be Michelle's middle name in this traditional fairy tale retold.

Vol. 6 - A Fistful of Destiny - Part 4 <br> The enraged beast is unleashed with a fury never before witnessed. It's up to the one that loves him to save him, no matter the cost. Also, escaping from a military installation has never been easier, assuming people are who say they are.

First draft serial fiction. The trapped knight breaks his reluctant silence and tells of his imprisonment in the land of the Fae. If he's more talkative, he certainly isn't more polite. Michelle doesn't let a little thing like being told to go away stop her from penetrating deeper into the realm of the Fae. The verbal sparring heats up in this traditional fairy tale retold.

Meeting Adam was like a dream come true. You know the kind of dreams we're talking about -- the ones you never tell your mother.

Mark at the crossroads, and a ray of hope shines as he finally escapes South Jersey.

Vol. 6 - A Fistful of Destiny - Part 3 <br> A voice from the heavens returns to Brand's life, only to show him a disturbing vision that can barely be understood. And a hidden monster is called forth from the firey depths of one's very soul.

First draft serial fiction. Waking up in a dark, empty lot with ten missing hours is nothing to mess with and Michelle vows to avoid the mysterious stranger and his bird of prey. But when the falcon shows up in her front yard and eats the neighbor's cat, it becomes obvious that something greater than coincidence is at work. Michelle takes the bull by the horns and seeks some answers in this week's episode of the traditional fairy tale retold.

An ocean of overlapping memories with a sky painted with dreams... Sully talks about bathroom dreams, dreams about falling, and falling dreamily in love with the handsome and hormonal Adam.

Mark makes a decision which may very well change his life. Or not.
