Contests: Pacific Northwest Library

The first place winners in each category are presented with the Zola Award, plus $600. The winning works will be presented as a staged reading by the SecondStory Repertory Company Fall, 2005.

Pacific Northwest Library Contest

This is a big one! There are ten categories: romance, screenwriting, adult genre, mainstream, short story, juvenile/young adult novel, juvenile short story or picture book, nonfiction/memoir and adult article/essay/short memoir.

The first place winners in each category are presented with the Zola Award, plus $600. The winning works will be presented as a staged reading by the SecondStory Repertory Company Fall, 2005. Winners of the contest are honored at the conference July 7-10, 2005.

All entries must be original and not previously accepted for publication or production. The deadline is February 22, 2005. Two copies of each entry must be submitted, because each entry is judged by two separate readers. Written critiques will be sent to all authors after the July conference (where the winners will be announced).

Entry fee is $35 for PNWA members and $45 for nonmembers.

See their web page for more information: www.pnwa.org.
