Deadline Wednesday, October 27, 2004. Winners will be announced in the October 30, 2004 issue of the Press. The first place entry will appear as the October 30 cover story. Shock Your Mama Humor Competition
This quarterly contest is offered to help discover and publish new humorists and to provide an outlet for previously published writers. This contest is open to any writer. There are two categories: poetry and prose. Poetry must be 100 lines or less and can be a parody of a popular poem. Prose must be super-short, 1000 words or less, and can be either fiction or nonfiction.
Entry fee is $5.00 for one story or three poems. Deadlines are March 1st, June 1st, September 1st and December 1st. The top winner in each category receives $25.00 and is published online in an anthology. Two honorable mentions receive no prize but will also be published.
